5 Year Blogoversary!

Holy bananas! I actually almost forgot that it was time for my blogoversary (shh, don't tell the blog). This is a huge milestone, especially since my career often gets in the way of being as active here as I would like to be. Let's rewind to 2009. I was a junior in college and I wanted a way to share my love of books. I was inspired by sites like The Story Siren, and even though I had absolutely NO KNOWLEDGE of HTML, I thought I would be fine to start it up.

Well, many broken html codes later, and here I am. I still have to google things, but I've met a great community of bloggers. I've seen the good, the bad, and seen a lot of changes within our community. I went on hiatus, fell back in love with blogging...and next year I am determined to make it to BEA so I can finally meet some of you in person! I'll pin my header to my shirt each day so hopefully people recognize me ;)

It's official, this week Cornucopia of Reviews turns 4 years old! I don't think I ever anticipated getting to four years, especially during my hiatus when I had a dreadful reading/reviewing rut. To celebrate this occasion, and because next week is so packed with posts, I wanted to start my give away a bit early. As a thank you to everyone who has helped to keep me going, I want to giveaway some books (Juju from Tales of Whimsy, Dazzling Mage of A Reading Kabocha, Jenny from Dreaming of Books, and Mel from The Daily Prophecy get special shout outs for being fabulous, and they have awesome blogs, too!). Return from my Blog Vacation, Blogoversary, and The Book Battle

My 2 year blogoversary (blogiversary? :) I wish there was some universally accepted spelling of this word) came and went rather quietly. Since I'm lacking funds, I won't be doing a celebration giveaway right now. I'm hoping to do something at the end of the summer which will have my favorite new/summer reads as prizes.

I'm also participating in the 2011 YA Best Overlooked Book Battle! I'm really excited to be a round two judge, so as I get my judging assignment/judging partner, I'll be updating about the process (with no spoilers about the winner). For those that don't know, this contest is once again being hosted by Alyssa at The Shady Glade, and as a round two judge I'll be asked to read two books from the shortlist, confer with another judge, and decide which book is the winner of our bracket.
